Test

Before you buy anything else, find out if you actually have a radon problem. Short-term kits screen fast and cheap. Long-term kits and monitors give the most accurate picture.

Mitigate

If you tested above 4 pCi/L, install a sub-slab depressurization system. Fan + pipe + sealing is the standard approach. Pick the fan that matches your foundation and radon level.

Verify

Every permanent mitigation system needs a way to confirm the fan is still working — and you should retest your home 30 days after installation, then every 2 years.

Required

Visual U-tube manometer that alerts you if your mitigation fan fails or loses suction. Required by EPA guidelines for all permanent systems.

Need PVC pipe and fittings?
